Refund Policy

Short version: Not satisfied in your first 30 days? Email us for a full refund — no questions asked. Annual plans qualify for a prorated refund after 30 days. Beyond that, you retain statutory rights to a refund under the Consumer Protection Act 2019 if there is a verified deficiency in service.

30-day money-back guarantee

We offer a full refund on all paid plans within 30 days of your first payment — no questions asked, no justification required.

To request a refund within 30 days, email hello@theoderai.comwith the subject line “Refund request” from your registered email address. We will process your refund within 5–7 business days.

The refund will be credited to your original payment method. Processing times depend on your bank or card issuer (typically 3–10 business days after we initiate the transfer).

Refunds after 30 days

Monthly subscriptions: We do not offer refunds for partial months after the 30-day guarantee period. If you cancel after your billing date, you retain access until the end of your paid period and will not be charged again.

Annual subscriptions: If you cancel an annual plan after 30 days, we will refund the unused full months on a prorated basis. For example, if you are on a ₹4,999/year Pro plan and cancel after 3 months, we will refund approximately ₹3,749 (9/12 × ₹4,999).

To request a prorated refund on an annual plan, email hello@theoderai.com. We will confirm the refund amount before processing.

Credit top-up packs

Credit top-up packs (additional credits purchased beyond your plan allocation) are non-refundable once purchased, as credits are consumed immediately upon use.

Exception: if you purchased a credit pack in error and have not used any of the credits, contact us within 48 hours and we will issue a full refund.

Free trial

The 7-day free trial does not require a credit card. There is nothing to refund during the trial period — your card is only charged after the trial ends.

If you entered a payment method during trial and were inadvertently charged before the trial end date, contact us immediately and we will issue a full refund.

Exceptional circumstances

If you were unable to use the Service due to a technical issue on our side (verified by our engineering team), we will credit your account with equivalent credits or issue a prorated refund, regardless of the standard policy timelines above.

In the event of a service discontinuation by TheoderAI, all subscribers will receive a prorated refund for their unused subscription period, with at least 30 days' notice.

Defect-based refunds & statutory rights

In addition to our 30-day guarantee, you are entitled to a proportionate refund under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 if there is a verified deficiency in service — that is, if the product fails to deliver its advertised characteristics. Examples include:

  • Failure to provide access to scheduled tests that were part of your plan
  • Unexpected removal of key mentors or features without a comparable replacement
  • Material degradation of AI response quality sustained over a billing period

To raise a deficiency-based refund claim, email hello@theoderai.com with a description of the issue. We will review and respond within 5 business days. All approved refunds are processed in accordance with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines.

RBI E-Mandate & auto-debit notifications

For Monthly, 6-Month, and 12-Month recurring plans, our billing is fully compliant with RBI E-Mandate Regulations. Here is what that means for you:

7.1Authentication thresholds

  • Recurring payments up to ₹15,000 do not require an OTP on every transaction once your mandate is registered.
  • Any single transaction exceeding ₹15,000 will always require an OTP.
  • Initial mandate setup requires a one-time AFA — 3D Secure for cards, UPI PIN for UPI.

UPI charge after notice

  • You will receive an automated SMS or email at least 24 hours before any automatic charge.
  • Card payments: a 26-hour advance warning buffer is enforced before the charge executes, to account for downstream bank delays.
  • UPI payments: the charge executes exactly 1 day after the 24-hour notification is sent.

7.3Mandate management

You can view, pause, modify, or cancel your auto-debit mandate at any time from Settings → Billingon the platform, or directly through your bank's netbanking portal.

How to request a refund

Email us at hello@theoderai.com with:

  • Subject: “Refund request — [your registered email]”
  • Your registered email address
  • The plan you are on and the payment date
  • Reason for the refund (optional, but helps us improve)

We aim to respond within 1 business day and process all approved refunds within 5 business days.
